Tour itinerary

Morning – Cycling along the Perfume River

Depart from Hue Smile Office and begin cycling along the southern bank of the Perfume River to visit the first stops of the day: Tiger Arena & Elephant Temple – Learn about the historical period when elephants were used in warfare during the Nguyen Dynasty.

Continue riding through Thuy Bieu Village, enjoying the fresh suburban air of Hue and tasting ripe local pomelos. Cycle onward to nearby traditional villages specializing in incense stick making and bronze casting.

Countryside Ride & Gia Long Tomb Follow peaceful country lanes through the countryside, passing Buddhist temples and shrines along the way. Cross a floating bridge to reach the main destination of the day – Gia Long Tomb. The tomb complex is beautifully designed and harmonized with nature, surrounded by pine trees and open landscapes. Take a short walk to enjoy the serene and peaceful atmosphere.

Lunch time After the visit, cycle to a local restaurant for lunch featuring Hue specialties.

Hon Chen Temple & Tu Duc Tomb Continue cycling toward Hon Chen Temple, then take a boat transfer to visit Tu Duc Tomb – one of Hue’s royal tombs, known not only as an architectural masterpiece but also as a poetic and artistic creation personally designed by Emperor Tu Duc.

Stay Hydrated: We provide bottled water, but feel free to bring your own reusable bottle to reduce plastic waste!

Answer: We generally recommend this tour for those who cycle regularly. If you are a beginner but still want to visit Gia Long Tomb, please contact Hue Smile Travel to customize a shorter route or discuss using an E-bike (subject to availability) to ensure you have a comfortable experience.

3. What should I prepare for a full-day 50km ride?

Answer: Since you will be on the saddle for a long time, we highly recommend wearing padded cycling shorts, lightweight breathable clothing, and sturdy sneakers. Don't forget high-SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, and a camera. We provide professional mountain bikes, helmets, and plenty of water throughout the journey.

4. What happens if it rains during the tour?

Answer: In Hue, sudden showers can happen. If there is light rain, we provide high-quality ponchos and continue the trip as biking in the rain can be a unique experience. However, in case of heavy rain or extreme weather that affects safety, we will discuss with you to adjust the itinerary, use a support vehicle, or reschedule.

5. Does the tour price include entrance fees to the Tombs and Temples?
